Ramadan

ramadan is an awesome and inspiring affair. i'm not being sarcastic in anyway here, but ever since entering the police academy where majority of my colleagues are muslim, i find it intriguing in so many levels.

the divine devotion and discipline muslims have for this month has taught me so much about the muslim religion and it's dedication to dictate sacrifice.

fasting for 12 hrs and inbetween doing your everyday chores such as training and work. following that 11 bows of prayers. i'm really impressed and at awe at such a sacred act that has been in practice for centuries and that has not been blotted down by the materialistic worldly affairs of our degrading society.

these pictures, i stole from darren's twits, are impressive testimonies to those who practice this sacred and magnificant act.

lauded

everyone's going away. and all into new adventures. it's times like these i feel i've left so much behind to endevour into something i do not have a particular control over

those going off this month:

mark 'the hulk' liu has left for prague with the rest of national team. wearing the national colours.

bertram is leaving tmr for wesleyan university at connecticut (spellcheck)

ming, my brother representing singapore in world skills in canada.

and all i can do right now is serve out the remaining 9months of my ns and find the courage each day to face up to the autolights going off while i take a crap at my office toilet.

seriously, inspite of all the fun i get from being a coy commander. NS still sucks.

well, i think for the most part, if you're really honest with yourself about what you want out of life, life gives it to you.

kids

i lost sight of myself, and i've succumb to too many temptations. loosing direction isn't all my thing and i need to readjust my crosshair to the main directive.

i'm tired most of the time and i'm really looking forward to my 2 weeks leave to canada to spend time with my family.

sorry dearest, i've lost too much to you and for the amount of damage you've done, i think i should take a step back now. everyone knows and constantly reminds me that i deserve better, especially from you. so i'll be walking on my own way. not turning back. and i'll only make a faint turn of my head when you put your hand on my shoulder and jerk it, knowing that an effort had been made. and only when you put all your strength into turning my torso around will i then volunteer to face myself towards you. i won't hope for that to happen, because the street that you're on are filled with wonderful candyfloss and cupcakes on the side that you'd rather take in the bliss temporarily before going on to the next stop till you reach the emporium that you've always wanted.

i've always admired you. my love.

Nice

So it works. I'm blogging from the comfort of my own hp. It's amazing what this device can do. Too many things. Twitter, blogger, soccernet, etc. I'm dumbfounded by its limitless capacity to entertain me even on my most busiest of days.

Except for the fact that after thus, singtel will decided to advertise itself. Which is damn gay. Why would I want the world to know I'm using a bb and singtel to do this?
